A Beautiful Message
This was on my friend Sheri's blog... I "stole" it from her. Doesn't it make you want to stand a little taller and think better about yourself? We really are special.... even if we forget that at times.

HAPPY EASTER
Just a few pictures from this special time of the year. I had Alexandra, Isabel, Hayden, Connor, and Serena over a week ago to paint eggs. We had a fun time... and as you can see the eggs turned out lovely. This year my tree grew Easter Eggs. I've never had that happen before! And of course everywhere you look beautiful flowers are coming up. Isn't this time of year wonderful? Everything is beginning anew. There is a feeling of hope in the air. The love of our Savior is all around us.Life truly is good.
Hershey Park Happy...Sort Of
This past Saturday we were able to go to Hershey Park for the day. Some of our friends from Harley had extra tickets (it was Harley Day - free admission and company picnic) which they gave to us. The only thing we had to pay for was the parking. Even the food was provided by Harley. It was a dreary morning. The rain had started in the middle of the night and continued through until about noon. Everything was wet when we arrived. As the day went on the sun broke through and the breeze kicked up but over all it turned out ok until the sun started to set. Before I knew it I was freezing cold and ready to go home. The girls got to meet up with some of their friends and enjoyed it much more than I did, but that's how kids are, right? Believe it or not, they even waited in line for 1 hour and 40 minutes to be in the front row of the Great Bear. INSANE. The waited that long for a ride that's no more than a minute long. That's just crazy in my book. Oh well.
So we'll have to see what the summer brings when it comes to going back up again. Prices are pretty high for general admission, however, you can get discount tickets at several locations. Time will tell. At least they went this time. Woo Hoo!

NO FREAKIN' WAY!!!
No pictures.... no cute graphics, nothing like that today! You'll have to form your own images (and throw in some smells along the way).
When I got home from work Thursday evening (at 7:30 - my 12 hour work day), I was told that Samantha had pooped 3 times in Brie's room... and Emile was "letting it dry" before trying to clean it up because it was runny. NICE. Just what you want to hear. Obviously something wasn't right.
Move to Friday...6am.. Samantha is going crazy in her kennel... prancing around, anxious; you could tell she really wanted out. Emile discovered vomit in the kennel as she was opening the door to take Samantha out back. Oh crap. What's next? Stupid me, I HAD TO ASK.
When I get home Friday afternoon (2:30) I can smell poop as soon as I start up the stairs. Because of the rain, we had to put Samantha back in her kennel rather than let her outside... she has a dog house, but I still like her indoors if the weather is bad. Anyway, as I approach her kennel, she looks completely forlorn, her head is dropped, ears laid back, just pathetic. And the smell is TERRIBLE. Here she had numerous accidents throughout the day and everything was a mess. I immediately took her out back where she immediately pooped in 3 more places. She really seemed miserable. When she finished she came over to me and just put her head against my arm. I felt so bad for her. Don't you hate when you can't talk to someone (child or animal) so they can tell you what's wrong?
When Emile got home from school, we took the bedding out of the kennel (as well as her dog house bedding) and walked down to the corner laundry mat to wash everything. I didn't want to wash it in my washer.... yuck. It's been at least 20 years since I used a commercial laundry. I couldn't believe how much it cost to wash a load. I used the smallest machine and it was $2.00. The other machines were $3.00 and $4.00. I'm sure thankful I have my own washer and dryer!!
After the wash, we brought everything home and put them in the dryer. Next Emile helped me give Samantha a bath. I actually gagged. She smelled so bad. NOT a pleasant experience. By the time we finished that... and blew her somewhat dry, the bedding was dry and we were ready to put everything back together.
As of this morning, I haven't found any new messes, however, I did find another old one, more than likely from Thursday evening. When I went to open blinds in my craft room, I found several messes. I'll attack that in a few minutes. Samantha does seem to be feeling a bit better. Hopefully the worse is over.
THANK YOU EMILE.... YOU WERE GREAT!! Just when I want to wring your neck, you come through and remind me of what a TERRIFIC KID you really are. You were a ton of help, and I truly appreciate everything you did to make a crappy situation a little easier to get through.
